The Multi-faith Council is comprised of many religious organizations from different faith traditions. These organizations are devoted to their unique religious traditions, and together as a council, serve the FIU community. through a commitment to foster an atmosphere that both nurtures the intellectual dimensions of faith as well as encourages the spiritual dimensions of education.

The member organizations of the Multi-faith Council are all affiliated with nationally recognized religious bodies, and the leaders of Multi-faith Council organizations are professional staff (clergy or laity). The Student Well-being and Mental Health Services provides free, professional, and confidential personal counseling services exclusively for the HWCOM medical students. The SWMHS psychologists specialize in mental health, wellness, and issues relevant to medical student life. Enrolled students may receive counseling throughout their professional education and training.
